Who is responsible

Hour Electric is the data controller for the details you give us. ICO registration number: to be added before launch. Contact us at hello@hourelectric.co.uk or by replying to any email from us.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and mobile number, the address the electrician visits, and access notes such as parking or a key safe. We use your mobile number for texts about your visit only: the booking confirmation, a reminder the day before, when your electrician is on the way or running late, and links to approve extra time or pay if a saved card fails. Reply STOP to any text and we switch those to email.
• What you ask us to look at, including any photos you add.
• A saved card, held by Stripe. We never see or store the card number.
• What happened at the visit: time on site, materials, the work summary, your approvals and signature, and any certificates.
• If you give us your details but do not finish booking, what you had entered by then: your name and contact details, the jobs on your list and the price we quoted, the postcode of the job, and any days you said would suit. We keep the postcode only, never the rest of the address. We use it to contact you once about the booking you started.
• Emails we send you and whether they were delivered.
• Where you came from when you booked: the campaign or referring site in the link you arrived on. This is kept with the booking so we can see which of our advertising works. It holds no identifier of its own.

Analytics

Only if you allow it on our cookies page, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to see which pages and booking steps people reach, and Google Analytics to measure our Google advertising. Both work under a random id; we do not send them your name, email, phone number or address. If you allow analytics and then book, we tell Google that a booking happened and what it was worth, so we can judge our adverts. Say no and none of this happens. Why, and the legal basis

We use these details to carry out your booking, charge for it and send you the paperwork: this is performance of our contract with you. We keep records of visits and payments to meet legal and accounting obligations. We send reminders and updates about your visit because you would expect them; we do not send marketing unless you ask for it. Where you started a booking and did not finish, we may contact you once about it: our legitimate interest in following up an enquiry you made. Tell us to stop and we will, and delete what we hold.

Who sees your details

• The electrical contractor assigned to your visit, and its electrician, see your name, phone number, address, access notes and job list, for the visit and 30 days after. The contractor is the supplier of the electrical work and needs these details to carry it out.
• Stripe processes your card and payments.
• Resend delivers our emails. ClickSend delivers our text messages. Supabase hosts our database in London. Vercel hosts the website. Ideal Postcodes looks up addresses from a postcode you type.
• PostHog and Google receive analytics only with your consent, as described above.
• We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, except where the law requires.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records for six years after the visit, which is the period for contract claims and tax records. Photos and signatures are deleted after six years. Contractors lose access to your contact details 30 days after the visit. A booking you start online but do not finish is kept for 90 days so we can follow it up once, then deleted automatically. If you never gave us your contact details, nothing leaves your own browser.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them, ask us to delete them where we no longer need them, and object to how we use them. Email hello@hourelectric.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
